2. The AskTippi service
2.1 Mission, services, and disputes
AskTippi enables Users to send out requests for help or information (“Questions”) within their own network and beyond, with the aim of obtaining relevant answers faster and more reliably. In doing so, Charities are highlighted and supported with every reward transaction. The core of the service is:
- Posting and sharing Questions: Users can post and share a question (Question Askers). Others can spread this question further (Resharers) or respond to it (Tippers).
- Reward system: The Question Asker can attach a financial reward to the Golden Tip. This is paid out after the Golden Tip is designated, possibly split between the Tipper, Resharers, and/or donated to a charity of choice.
- Safety and integrity: AskTippi may deploy smart algorithms (including machine learning) to, among other things, match relevant Tips to Questions and to prevent misuse.
- Mediation in disputes: In the event of disagreement about the usefulness or fairness of a Tip, the AskTippi Mediation Team can be engaged. See also 10. Dispute resolution.
2.2 AskTippi as a facilitating platform
AskTippi only provides the technical and organisational infrastructure for posting and sharing Questions and paying out Rewards. AskTippi is generally not a party to agreements between Users. Users are themselves responsible for the content of their Questions, Tips, and any agreements arising from them. This document contains detailed guidelines for Users to ensure that content and use comply with AskTippi's rules.
3. Types of AskTippi user accounts
3.1 Subscription types and general obligations
- Basic Account (free): Every User starts with the Basic Account. With this you can post Questions, give Tips, and reward the Golden Tip.
- Premium Account: For Users who post questions more regularly or want extra management options. (still to be developed)
- Pro Account: Aimed at professional or business users (e.g. headhunters, recruitment agencies, etc.) with extensive functionalities. (still to be developed)
- Charity Account: Developed for charities and non-profits that want to post requests for help or link fundraising to AskTippi. Additional verification may be required for this. (still to be developed)
All Users must provide (at minimum) their real first and last name, and may optionally add their social media profiles. Using nicknames or false information is not permitted.
3.2 Account verification (KYC process)
- An identity check is required to pay out or receive rewards (see our Payment Terms or FAQ). This check is carried out via our partner payment provider and includes, among other things, a digital KYC form and identity verification with an identity document and/or iDIN.
- AskTippi may require additional identification if the available information is insufficient to make an assessment, or if there is a suspicion or risk of misuse.
- Charities can only be added to AskTippi as a Charity Account after onboarding and screening by AskTippi. This allows them to receive direct donations from AskTippi users. An identity check is also required to pay out or receive rewards for every Charity Account (see our Payment Terms or FAQ). This check is carried out via our partner payment provider and includes, among other things, a digital KYC form and identity verification with an identity document and/or iDIN. Currently, only charities with ANBI status are eligible for onboarding. During this process, among other things, the organisational structure, Chamber of Commerce (KvK) registration, directors, and any side activities are assessed.
- If the user does not comply with the verification requests, AskTippi may restrict functionalities, such as not paying out Rewards or temporarily/permanently blocking the user account.
3.3 Minors
AskTippi's services are only accessible to minor Users if they have received explicit permission from their legal representative, or if it is customary in society for a minor of that age to independently carry out the relevant action.
4. Privacy policy
For a complete overview of how AskTippi processes personal data, please consult our Privacy Policy. This describes:
- Which data we collect when you create an account and publish a Question or Tip.
- How AskTippi processes personal data and how we share data with third parties, such as payment providers, charity organisations, and any future partner companies.
- How AskTippi transfers data internationally (e.g. use of servers within or outside the EU).
- What rights you have under the GDPR (such as access, rectification, erasure).
By using AskTippi, you grant AskTippi a licence to publish and distribute your Questions, Tips, and profile data within the network, via our own communication channels (social media). Your full name or other personal data will not be shared without your explicit consent.
5.1 User obligations
To keep the AskTippi service pleasant and safe, AskTippi expects every User to:
- Use real information and ensure correct contact details. You may not impersonate someone else. You will comply with all applicable laws and regulations. The AskTippi platform may not be used for prohibited or illegal goods or services, to commit fraud, to deceive, or in any way to wrong or harm others (including us), see also 5.2.
- Be honest about the status of a Tip. Have you actually used a Tip? Then designate the Golden Tip and pay out the Reward if you had promised to.
- Do not use Questions, Tips, or Content for unlawful, offensive, or punishable purposes. Examples of misuse (non-exhaustive, see also 5.2):
- Posting illegal, unlawful, or misleading information.
- Fraud, money laundering, tax evasion, and identity fraud.
- Manipulative use of multiple accounts, artificially circulating Rewards, or fake Tips.
- Unsolicited ‘scraping’ of data from AskTippi.
- Unsolicited penetration testing or hacking.
- Respect the intellectual property rights and privacy of others. Do not share private data of others via AskTippi without their explicit consent.
- As a user, you agree to ask a person or entity for permission in advance before resharing their information as a tip.
- Obtaining consent is the responsibility of the tipper and may be done at their own discretion, for example in person, by phone, or via written message.
(If the tip concerns another AskTippi user, in a future version of the platform this user may be tagged directly in the tip by the tipper. Users of AskTippi agree that they may be named as a tip.)
- Report misuse. Report unlawful or inappropriate content via support@asktippi.com or via the in-app report function.
- Resharing or your own original questions only: You may only post original questions of your own or in direct consultation with the beneficiary/beneficiaries. You may only reshare an already-posted question. It is not permitted to post the same or strongly similar question for a specific beneficiary as a new question from yourself, with the intention of later offering the incoming tips or information to the beneficiary for your own gain, benefit, enrichment, or earnings.
In the event of a violation of these Terms, AskTippi may take measures, such as temporary/permanent account suspension, content removal, or reporting to authorities.

5.3 No infringement of third-party intellectual property rights
- It is not permitted to post content (or parts thereof) via the AskTippi platform in questions and/or tip answers that infringes third-party intellectual property rights. This includes, among other things, but is not limited to:
- Posting texts, images, videos, or other material for which the user does not have permission from the rights holder (such as copyright on texts or photos);
- Sharing information that causes trademark infringement, such as unlawfully using registered brand names or logos in tips or profile information;
- Distributing tips or content based on protected designs or formats (such as graphic works, campaigns, or concepts) without permission from the rights holder.
- A posted tip or description may only mention the brand or trade name of an actually relevant party, organisation, service, or person explicitly related to the content of the tip. Mentioning brand or trade names of other, unrelated services or organisations is not permitted.
- Comparisons with other services, persons, or organisations are only permitted when they are informative and factual, do not cause confusion about origin or involvement, and are not misleading. Other parties' brand names may not be used in a way that could lead to confusion, suggest cooperation, or create unwarranted trust.
- Including disclaimers about the accuracy or authenticity of shared information (such as “I'm not sure if this is correct” or “possibly not the real source”) is discouraged. Users are themselves responsible for checking the reliability of their tip before it is shared via the platform.
- If a user posts information that infringes the rights of third parties (including intellectual property rights or reputational harm), that user alone is fully liable for all resulting damage, costs, and third-party claims. This includes, among other things, but is not limited to, legal costs, damages, fines, and other financial consequences of the infringement.
AskTippi may review content posted by users on the above topics and may, at its own discretion, decide on temporary/permanent account suspension, content removal, or reporting to authorities.
5.4 Use of AI functionalities
- AskTippi offers optional AI functionalities that help you draft a question, including automatically generating a description and a payout moment based on a title and keywords, and converting spoken audio to text (transcription).
- By using these AI functionalities, you agree that the text and/or audio you provide will be processed by AskTippi and by external AI service providers acting as processors on behalf of AskTippi. See our Privacy Policy for more information about this processing.
- Using the AI functionalities is voluntary; you can also fill in a description and payout moment manually yourself.
- The AI-generated text is only a suggestion. As a user, you remain fully responsible for the final content of your question, including its accuracy, completeness, and lawfulness, and must check the generated text before publishing. The obligations and prohibitions set out in articles 5.1 through 5.3 apply in full to content created with the help of AI.
- AskTippi does not guarantee the accuracy, suitability, or usability of AI-generated text and is not liable for it, subject to article 6.
6. Liability and indemnification
6.1 Role of AskTippi
AskTippi facilitates interactions and financial Rewards, but is explicitly not a party to the agreement or arrangement between Users. AskTippi does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or usability of Tips, nor the success of a Question. Users bear full responsibility for the content they share.
AskTippi is a platform intended to help people and support charities, explicitly not as a financial earnings model for users. Although users may receive rewards, it is never intended that users rely on AskTippi as a source of income. We strongly advise users against relying on any form of income via AskTippi, even if this has been successful in the past. For these reasons, AskTippi cannot be held liable for any form of compensation, regardless of the cause. This also applies to situations in which a user earns less than expected via AskTippi due to technical or legal reasons or internal decisions or errors by AskTippi, or when a user would seek compensation for any form of lost time, indirect damage, or other forms of compensation. Users agree that they will therefore never hold AskTippi liable for any form of compensation.
6.2 Limitation of liability
- General exclusion: To the extent permitted by law, AskTippi is not liable for damage suffered as a result of:
- incorrect or incomplete use of the AskTippi service;
- AskTippi or parts thereof being (no longer) available;
- incorrect, misleading, or illegal information shared by Users via AskTippi;
- actions by third parties, including fellow Users or automated bots;
- loss or damage that was not directly foreseeable when you accepted these Terms.
- Limitation to a maximum amount: If, despite the foregoing, AskTippi is nevertheless found liable by a court, the total liability is in all cases limited to the higher of (i) the fees you paid to AskTippi in the 6 (six) months preceding the event (e.g. for a Premium or Pro account) or (ii) €100.
6.3 Liability of Users and indemnification
- As a user, you are yourself fully responsible for the content and/or consequences of Questions, Tips, and any mutual (financial) agreements.
- You indemnify AskTippi against all third-party claims arising from your (alleged) unlawful use of AskTippi, such as posting incorrect information, infringing others' rights, money laundering, or evading Rewards.
7. Financial transactions and rewards
7.1 Reservation and payout of the Reward
- Setting the Reward: A Question Asker can set an amount of money, minimum €25, as a Reward when creating a Question. The Question Asker is required to pay this amount in advance, in the manner indicated by AskTippi, into an escrow account according to the instructions of our partner payment provider.
- Golden Tip and payout: When the Question Asker selects a Golden Tip, AskTippi ensures that the Reward is paid out in whole or in part to the relevant Tipper(s) and/or Resharers in cooperation with our partner payment provider.
- AskTippi fees: Where applicable, AskTippi charges a service or transaction fee. The amount and method of settlement are explained in the Payment Terms or when creating the Question.
7.2 Donations to charities
- Charity account: Approved charities (see 3.2) can create a Charity account.
- Charity donation: The Question Asker can set (part of) the Reward for donation to a chosen charity (Charity account). AskTippi arranges the payout to the charity account in cooperation with our partner payment provider. Any transaction costs may be deducted.
- Legitimacy: AskTippi reserves the right to (periodically) check whether a Charity account actually represents the interests of the stated charity. In the event of invalid or fraudulent information, AskTippi may block the account and suspend or cancel transactions.
7.3 No Golden Tip chosen and refund
- No suitable Tip: A Question Asker is not obliged to choose a Golden Tip if no Tip is considered sufficient. However, the Question Asker must communicate this honestly. Tippers and any Resharers receive a message when their tip has not been used according to the question asker. If they believe this is unjustified and the question asker did in fact use the tip, they can report this and, if necessary, engage the AskTippi mediation team.
- Option to donate: A Question Asker can indicate that the unpaid amount is (partly) donated to a stated charity, instead of a (full) refund. This only happens if the Question Asker explicitly chooses to do so by email to support@asktippi.com.
- Refund: If no Tip is considered sufficient, as described under 1, a Question Asker can request a refund of their reward amount (minus platform and transaction costs) by submitting a request to support@asktippi.com.
7.4 Restrictions and limits
- Transaction limits: AskTippi may set limits on the amount that un- or partially verified Users can transfer or receive.
- Verification: If the limit is exceeded or there is a suspicion of fraudulent activity, AskTippi may require an additional KYC procedure. Until then, the payout of Rewards may be suspended.
7.5 AskTippi earnings models
AskTippi has the right to add a financial commission to transactions for question askers who post a question. This amount does not need to be returned if no golden tip follows. AskTippi may also integrate paid accounts and other earnings models, possibly with future partner companies. Additional or amended terms may apply in the future.
7.6 Deposits
- Rewards above €100: When a user posts a question with a reward chosen by the user of more than €100, the option to pay the full amount at once is offered by default.
- Choosing a deposit: Instead of paying the full amount at once, the user can also choose to make a deposit of €100. In that case, the remaining amount only becomes due at the moment the user designates a golden tip.
The user must then pay the remaining part of the reward within 48 hours of designating the golden tip. Only after receipt of this remaining amount is the relevant tip formally confirmed as a ‘golden tip’ and can the reward be paid out.
- AskTippi's right to claim: If the user chooses the deposit option, AskTippi retains the right to fully collect the remaining reward amount as soon as the user designates a golden tip. The user acknowledges and accepts that AskTippi in that case has a right to claim the outstanding part of the reward.
- Non-payment of the remaining amount: If the user does not pay the remaining amount within the period mentioned in point 2, AskTippi reserves the right to take appropriate debt-collection measures. In addition, the status of the golden tip may be temporarily suspended and payout to the tipper may be delayed until payment has been fully received.
8. Prevention of misuse
8.1 Prohibited conduct
The following activities are expressly prohibited:
- Fraudulent reward circulation: Agreeing among each other to submit fictitious, (partly) fake, or worthless questions and/or Tips and designate them as Golden Tip with the aim of establishing fraudulent flows of money via AskTippi.
- Fictitious Questions: Posting misleading or fraudulent Questions.
- Multiple accounts: to circumvent and/or influence platform rules. Each person/entity may activate a maximum of one (1) user account.
- Automation and bots: to carry out unauthorised bulk actions, scraping, or manipulation.
- Falsely rejecting Tips: Wrongly indicating that a usable Tip was not used, solely to avoid paying out a Reward.
8.2 Fraud detection and sanctions
AskTippi is entitled to deploy, where applicable, the following (non-exhaustive) measures to prevent fraud via AskTippi:
- Community reporting & review system: Users can report misuse via support@asktippi.com or the report button.
- Interventions: In the event of (suspected) misuse, AskTippi may, among other things, remove questions/tips, block reward payouts, (temporarily) suspend or permanently terminate accounts, and – where necessary – share data with relevant authorities or third parties.
- Limits: on transactions between the same users within a certain period.
- Monitoring of IP addresses and devices: to detect whether deviant/incorrect/multiple accounts and/or use from a specific device are being coordinated.
- AI-driven monitoring: smart learning and/or LLM models to identify suspicious transactions and patterns, such as fraudulent, unusual, incorrect, frequently occurring, or deviant questions, tips, golden tips, rewards, etc.
9. Content removal and account termination
- Removing or restricting content: AskTippi may remove or restrict content or information if it conflicts with these Terms, or if legal requirements demand it.
- Termination by User: You can always delete your account yourself. After deletion, your content is deleted or, in any case, made invisible within 90 days.
- Suspension or termination by AskTippi: In the event of repeated violation or fraud, AskTippi may (temporarily) disable your account at its own discretion. If you believe this measure is unjustified, you can file an objection.
- Reserving the Reward: If Rewards are still outstanding at the time of account termination, AskTippi may pay these out to the entitled party or refund them to the Question Asker, after investigating possible signs of misuse.
10. Dispute resolution
10.1 Disputes between AskTippi Users
AskTippi Mediation Team: In the event of conflicts about a Golden Tip, the amount of the Reward, or the usefulness of a Tip, involved Users can request mediation via support@asktippi.com. A mediation process is then started. AskTippi tries to provide a solution or advice within 14 (fourteen) days. Users agree that, in the case of internal disputes, they will first start a mediation process with AskTippi before taking any other steps.
10.2 Disputes between private and business Users and AskTippi
- Assessment and removal of content and user accounts on AskTippi: If AskTippi decides to remove content and/or a user account, the user is never entitled to compensation. If a user disagrees with the removal of content and/or the user account, an email can be sent to support@asktippi.com. It is solely up to AskTippi to assess any objections at its own discretion. In the exceptional case that AskTippi were to make an incorrect decision, the user nonetheless retains no right to any form of compensation or obligation from AskTippi. The user fully indemnifies AskTippi from any form of compensation.
- Temporary removal/modification of content and/or user accounts due to technical errors or outages: In the event of a technical error or outage that leads to the (temporary) removal/modification of content and/or a user account, the user is never entitled to compensation. In the exceptional case that AskTippi determines that an error was made, the user nonetheless retains no right to any form of compensation or obligation from AskTippi. The user fully indemnifies AskTippi from any form of compensation.

- Legal steps
- If mediation does not provide a solution, the private user can submit the dispute to the competent court in their place of residence or in AskTippi's place of business, in accordance with applicable consumer law.
- Dutch law applies to the agreement between the private user and AskTippi.
- Costs
- The costs of mediation are in principle borne by AskTippi, unless the private user wishes to appoint their own mediator.
- Any legal costs following failed mediation are borne by the respective parties.
